"So they said to me, 'Let us rise up and build.' Then they set their hands to this good work" (Nehemiah 2:18 NKJV).
Here are six words that will set any leader's heart to beating a little faster. The congregation, when they heard the stirring cry for action from Nehemiah, spoke with one voice ' "Let us rise up and build!"
It takes little time or skill to demolish a building. But it takes time, skill, and most of all, will, to build something great for God. Notice the people did not say, "Great idea, Nehemiah! Go for it! We're all behind you." They caught his vision, committed themselves to it, made a public declaration and then "set their hands" to that good work. God wants you to be a builder. Rise up and build!
