A Clear and Present Danger

"They have said, 'Come, and let us cut them off from
being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more'"
(Psalm 83:4 NKJV).
The verse spells out the clear and present
danger the coalition of Arab nations (see vs. 5-8) represented to
Israel. The late Yasser Arafat was committed to driving the last Jew
into the Mediterrean Sea. That is still the stated purpose of the
Iranian dictator. The "perpetual hatred" of Israel (Ezekiel 35:5 ESV)
is still preached daily by Muslim clerics.
God is the one being
slandered in this passage. "Those who hate You have...taken crafy
counsel against Your people...they have formed a confederacy against
You" (vs. 3,5). Israel is called "the apple of His eye" and is
mentioned 2,565 times in 2,293 verses in the Bible. Much more can be
learned in my book "The Biblical Roots of Islam" – $6.50 postpaid from

Prayer: Lord, today
we pray the prayer of the Psalmist - Do not keep silent, O God! Do not
hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For Your enemies make a
tumult... (Psalm 83:1,2).
