Poisoning People

"But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren" (Acts 14:2 NKJV).

I can't think of many things worse than poisoning someone's mind against another person. The apostles were having great success in Iconium. A "great multitude" of both Jews and Greeks became believers. But then someone slipped poison into the communion (fellowship).

How terrible it is when those who should know better stoop to poison the mind of a new convert by injecting lies or rumors or doubts. May we never poison the mind of a believer against their brethren! "Poison proof" the medicine cabinet of your heart today! Throw out every intention of slipping poison into the communion!

Prayer: Loving Father, help us to reject any temptation from Satan to poison the mind of a fellow believer. Fill us with Your love so that we will see only Jesus in their face.
