Passing Judgment on Ourselves

"It was necessary that the word of God should be spoke
to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles" (Acts 13:46 NKJV).
These
were tough words for Paul and Barnabas to speak to the Jews in Antioch
who had rejected their teaching. But they were not passing judgment on
them. Rather, those who had spurned the message of Christ had judged
themselves.
The worst kind of deceit is to deceive oneself. The
worst kind of judging is to judge oneself unworthy of everlasting life.
It is not good to judge others. It is not good to judge ourselves in
this regard. God does not arbitrarily send men to Hell. They go there
of their own volition. Don't make the mistake the "judges of Antioch"
made!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of
everlasting life. May we never pass judgment on ourselves by turning a
deaf ear to Your Holy Word!
